This tour is expedition style kayaking holidays with full outside assistance if needed. Every day we will discover something new while our knowledgable guides will tell you stories and legends about the area. We will be spending nights camping in secluded bays by campfire and grill (campfire only in April and October departures). For stretching your legs after sitting in a kayak there are several trekking routes along the way worth exploring. If you prefer resting and swimming, we will stop on the best and most beautiful beaches the area has to offer. We can also teach you a famous Croatian beach game – picigin.

After your arrival, you will meet the team and we will do a short briefing before we’ll load our kayaks on the beach and start our Croatian sea kayaking adventure. First, we’ll paddle under 2000 y.o. fortification walls and 4 tower bells before we reach the green side of the W coast of the island Rab. We’ll have lunch on the beach together with some swimming and other activities. After lunch, we’ll carry on and paddle under the Kalifront forest – the oldest Mediterranean Helm Oak Tree forest, before we reach the bay of Kampor, where we’ll cross to the Island of Maman and make a camp for the night.

Today it is going to be a busy day, many interesting things on our route. After breakfast, we’ll paddle to Draga to visit the Old Water Mill then paddle to Tunera pier, which was built during the 1760’s for Tuna fishing. We’ll follow the NW coast to reach cape Sorinj where we’ll enjoy lunch and swim in the turquoise Adriatic sea. We’ll then cross the bay of Lopar to reach and explore its sandy bays and beaches before we set our camp.

On the third day, we’ll kayak to the Island of St. Gregory and paddle the coastline before we set off to notorious Island of Goli Otok. Both of the Islands were political prisons in former Yugoslavia with an interesting history, that our guides will tell you all about. We’ll have a short visit to the ruins of the prison and other interesting sights on the island. After a short history lesson, lunch and sightseeing we’ll paddle back to Grgur Island and explore its NE side, crowned by high cliffs. After reaching the main bay we’ll set up our tents and have dinner in a beautifull surrounding that offers amazing sunset.*

*Optional dinner (not included in tour price) in local restaurant owned by our dear friends. They serve calamari, fish and meat dishes. You can also charge your phone as they run on generator. The restaurant is open from late April to mid-September.

We’ll do the circumnavigation of the Island and then we’ll get back to Grgur island from where we’ll paddle back to Lopar on the island Rab and enjoy there on the sandy beach. After the lunch, we’ll point our sea kayaks toward the East coast of Rab where we’ll enjoy in Geological scenery as this part is proclaimed to be Geo-Park Rab. There are a few caves which we will explore and some quite amazing rock formations. Our base is in the middle of the Island, situated under the highest top of Rab where we’ll be able to enjoy amazing views on Velebit Mountain.

Today will be another day of kayaking in Geo-Park Rab. We’ll have a few stops before we reach our overnight destination – the bay of Mag. Dinner under the stars around our campsite with new stories, legends, and historical facts.

Today is, unfortunately, our last day of paddling and our goal is to reach beautiful historical town Rab, capital of the island. Last day will offer some great paddling and views.
