- Croatian Offshore Classic
- Training days
- Great atmosphere before and after the race in Vodice
Jabuka is one of the hardest races in the Adriatic. It can offer anything from great sailing conditions in summer like temperatures to gale force winds and freezing temperatures. 2015 will be 13th edition of this increasingly popular regatta that saw 96 boats on starting line in 2014.
Start of the race is magical as it is a night start. The Race starts in front of town Vodice and than the fleet sail southeast to round the mysterious volcanic island of Jabuka with island Komorica as only waypoint on the way. After rounding of Jabuka the route takes the fleet back to Vodice with one more waypoint, mighty lighthouse Blitvenica. The whole route is around 90 miles long.
You will experience 2 days of training and a race. Training days will be organized according to your sailing skills and experience. We will go through all the maneuvers, sail selection and changes. Some sailing experience is welcome although our 2 skippers who will be with You for the race and training days will prepare You for the race, even if You don’t have experience. 3 days of sailing is quite demanding so it will be quite physical.
Minimum 6 people
We sail modern boats in excellent condition, fully equipped for cruising and racing, offering both comfort and speed. During the whole adventure we sleep on boat, which gives another dimension to our adventure.
Sailing gear (Foul weather jacket and pants, boots)
We meet at 9:00 at the reception in Marina Split or Kaštela (also in Split). We will drink a coffee together so we can all get to know each other and make a plan for the next 4 days. After that we can buy some drinks and food and set sails towards Vodice. Delivery will be used as a training for the race. We will also prepare lunch together on the boat and have one more training session in the afternoon before going in to the port. It is always nice to race in Vodice as there is always a good vibe, sailors usually meet in Virada bar, just in front of port.
8:00 Breakfast and coffee time with short briefing and plan for the day. We will have morning training session. After training we will berth the boat and prepare her for the race. We will go through latest meteo forecast and strategy for the race and then have a rest until skippers meeting which usually takes place at 19:00. Start is planned between 20:00-24:00 depends on weather conditions.
