What to expect

This race is really beautiful experience. Main focus is of course on Sail racing, but race is designed to give You the opportunity to discover and explore the Adriatic on the way. The route will take us to 3 different countries (Croatia, Italy and Slovenia) and on the way we will visit some of the sailors favorite towns in Adriatic, that will definitely allow You to feel the Adriatic vibe. There will also be a free day, that we will spend in Venice, a town that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.

3 Countries regatta is international One Design regatta. The route of the race is stretching through 3 counties and is 205Nm long. Besides offshore sailing, be ready for some action of inshore sailing on the last day.

Activity/Experience

Racing for more than 200 Nm in open sea is a big challenge and physically very demanding. All sailors need previous racing experience, which they will prove with their Sailing verification from their National Sailing Federations.

Group Size

6 people

Boat

The race is organized on Elan 350 One Design. Elan 350 is modern fast cruiser, designed by renowned yacht designer Rob Humphreys. Designer has vast experience in designing sailing boats like VOR70, Class40 and IMOCA 60, he used this knowledge to design this beautiful boat. Main characteristics of Elan 350 OD are good stability, wide beam and 2 rudders, all this makes this boat fast and safe.

During the whole adventure the boat will be our home, which will give another dimension to our adventure.

Personal stuff

1

Saturday

Biograd – Sali

After our arrival to Biograd (Croatia), we will take over our boat and prepare it for sailing. We will use the rest of the day for training. We will use training for delivery to small fishing village Sali on Dugi otok (Lond island), where we will meet other teams for welcome party. The party will be held in Maritimo bar, one of the most popular bars for sailors in the Adriatic Sea.

2

Sunday

Sali – Veli Rat

While You will have Your breakfast, skipper will go to skippers meeting. As soon as he is back we will make short briefing about the race and our goals. The route on the first day will take us to Veli rat, which is around 25Nm North, still on the same island. On the cape of Veli rat there is a mighty, really impressive lighthouse of the same name.

3

Monday

Veli Rat – Mali Lošinj

After morning routine, we will race to Mali Lošinj, which lies another 30Nm north on the island of Lošinj. Mali Lošinj is a nice, lively town, very friendly to sailors.

4

Tuesday

Mali Lošinj – Venice

After few days of sailing together, we already know each other and each other’s sailing capabilities. This is important as today we race on the longest leg of the whole race. 100Nm to Venice, across Adriatic Sea, is a big challenge and is very demanding even for a single race, even more if it is just one leg of a week long race.

5

Wednesday

Venice

Today is a free day. Reasons for that are several. With such a long race, that is completely dependent on whether, there is a possibility that not everyone is finished yet and the other reason is that we are in Venice – one of the most beautiful and unique cities in the world – definitely worth staying and exploring for at least a day.

6

Thursday

Portorož

After we are all well rested it is time to race another 50Nm to third country on our route, Slovenia. We will finish in Portorož.

7

Friday

Portorož

On the last day of racing we will experience 3 technical regattas in front of Portorož to finish this adventure in style with a lot of action and adrenalin. After the race we will have a prize giving ceremony with diner and farewell party.

We must return our lady (Boat) to the organizers at 8:30, after we can have one last breakfast together.
